Everything you need to know
What is a brand sprint?
A brand sprint is a focused process that defines the core of your brand: your purpose, values, audience, positioning, and personality. It is based on the methodology used at Google Ventures, adapted for founders who need a clear, professional brand foundation without spending months on it.
At Brand Sprint Lab, we guide you through a short questionnaire, use AI to generate a tailored brand package, and have a person review the result before it reaches you.
After purchase: create your account
After you buy your modules, we prepare your account and credits and email you a secure welcome link. The link works once for seven days. Open it, confirm your name and create a password - you will be signed in and taken to a welcome page showing exactly which module credits are ready.
Public sign-up is closed so nobody can create an uncredited account by mistake. If your link has expired, has already been used or you cannot find the email, contact [email protected]. We can safely replace the invitation without creating or charging your credits again.
Step 1: The discovery questionnaire
The discovery questionnaire asks you about your business, your customers, your competitors, and your ambitions - including what you sell and how it is priced, which markets you sell into now and expect to matter within five years, which social platforms matter most to your audience, and the visual mood you want your brand to carry. Your answers autosave as you type, so you can stop and resume at any point without losing progress.
Take your time. Thoughtful answers produce better results. Nothing is locked until you submit: the review page lists every question with an Edit button beside it, so you can go back and rework any answer as often as you like. Longer answers are welcome - the answer box grows as you write.
Naming your sprints
If you run several sprints for the same brand, give each one a working title on your dashboard so you can tell them apart. Choose Edit title on any sprint card, type a short label such as "Homepage messaging trial", and save. You can rename a sprint at any stage, including after delivery.
The working title is private organisational information for you and the Brand Sprint Lab team. It is separate from your brand name and never appears in AI generation, the brand viewer, exports or your downloadable package. Clearing it returns the card to a fallback made from the brand name and creation date. Our team may also use the title to distinguish internal output comparisons; that staff-only comparison does not change or release your package.
Before you submit: a quick strengthening check
Once every question is answered, an AI "strategist" reads all of your answers - about half a minute - and may suggest up to three follow-up questions on the answers that would make your brand package noticeably stronger. A panel on the review page shows its progress, and you can submit at any time without waiting for it.
Answering a follow-up appends your reply below your original answer, so nothing is lost. You can just as easily skip any or all of them - it never blocks submission. If your answers already give us plenty to work with, you will see a short note saying so instead of any questions.
Step 2: Generation and review
Before submitting, choose the credited modules you want to generate. The branding modules are selected by default and Trademark Discovery is opt-in. We use one try for each selected module, then generate those modules using AI. A person reviews the result before releasing it to you.
Expect your package to be ready within 24 hours. You will see the current status on your dashboard while the review is in progress, and our operators are alerted as it moves through generation and human review. If generation fails, your selected module tries are returned and you can resubmit; we may also retry on our side, in which case your status page moves back to in progress.
Step 3: Your brand package
When your package is ready, you can view it in-app section by section. Every sprint uses the same clear neutral layout so the content stays readable; your generated colours are shown where colour is the subject, in the palette, rationale and logo.
You can also download the full package as a zip file to share with your team or designer. It includes standalone HTML pages and one A4 PDF of all the sections you own.
Modules and what you own
A brand package is split into four modules, each priced at £350: Brand Foundations (purpose, positioning and competitive landscape), Brand Identity System (colour, typography and tone of voice), Go to Market Messaging (homepage copy, elevator pitch and offer framing) and Trademark Discovery (a strength score for your name, recommended trademark classes and what to leave out of each, similar marks to check and how closely each one overlaps with what you sell, a domain and social checklist, risks and renewal deadlines). Your review page shows the modules for which you have tries and lets you choose exactly which ones to run. An unselected try stays on your account for another new or repeated sprint.
A note on Trademark Discovery: it is a preliminary assessment to point your search in the right direction. Where we can, we check your name against official trademark and company registers and show you what we found, but that is a starting point rather than a clearance search, and none of it is legal advice - always commission a professional clearance search before filing. The biggest risk to a new name is usually an existing owner objecting to it, so the markets question in the questionnaire matters here: tell us where you expect to sell and we search those registers too.
Any module you did not select for this sprint appears in the viewer as a locked teaser: a short description, its price, and a link to buy. Its content is not generated behind the scenes. To buy an additional module, use the link on the teaser through to brandsprintlab.com or contact us directly - there is no in-app purchase flow yet.
To run another module later, use a new sprint or ask our team to copy the same answers into a fresh draft, then select that module. An instant unlock on an existing sprint is available only when its complete content was already generated.
Asking for a change (refinement)
If any section of your package does not feel right, contact us to request a refinement. Tell us what you would like changed and why, and we will update that section. We record the exact part that may change, such as the mission, belief or values, and preserve the rest of the approved package. Refinements go through the same generation and review process.
If a correction affects a whole module or package, we still review each affected visible section separately in the same clean layout you receive. We can accept the proposal, edit its structured fields safely, or discard it. Your live package stays unchanged while we review those decisions, then all approved changes are applied together. This keeps a broad correction coherent without allowing one section to overwrite its neighbours.
We generate those proposals one section at a time and keep your current content unchanged until review is complete. If a delivered sprint must be re-opened, the viewer and download are temporarily unavailable while we review it, then return when the revised package is released.
Each approved change creates a new version, and earlier versions are retained for our operators to audit and recover safely. Restoring an earlier section does not give it permission to overwrite neighbouring sections. Version recovery is handled by our team rather than through a founder self-service control.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the questionnaire take?
Most founders complete it in 20 to 40 minutes. There is no time limit and your answers autosave, so you can spread it across multiple sessions.
Can I fill in the questionnaire outside the app?
Yes. Open Import answers from the questionnaire, then copy or download the questions. When you are done, paste your answers back or upload the file - plain text, Word (.docx), PDF and Excel all work. AI sorts your words into the right questions and you review everything before anything is submitted. Legacy .doc files are not supported - save them as .docx or PDF first.
Can I edit my answers after submitting?
No - once submitted, the discovery questionnaire is locked so the generation process has a stable input. Your answers stay visible but read-only, and the review page says so rather than letting you type into a field that will not save. Up until you submit you can change anything. If you need to make significant changes after submitting, contact us.
Who reviews the package?
A member of the Brand Sprint Lab team reviews every package before it is released. They check for coherence, accuracy, and quality.
